Recycled Box Sailboat
Box Sailboat build from paper and a recycled box.It is a great craft for your kids,Try to make it at home.
Requirments:
- Recycled box (cereal box,tissue box)
- White sketch paper
- 2 Straw or Wooden Shashlik Sticks
- Glace paper or Poster Paint
- Diffrent colored pens,pencils
- Modeling clay
- Gum
- Scissor
Method:
- Take a flat box such as a cereal box to make into your sailboat's hull. With the box's display panel facing up, draw an arc from end to end. Make an identical arc on the opposite box panel.
- Cut the box along the arcs. Staple the side flaps.
- Now wraped the sail boat'hull with glace paper with the help of the gum.(you can also Paint the box hull with poster paint)
- Cut 2 right triangles on white sketch paper to make the sails. One sail should be slightly smaller. Proportion the triangles' size with that of your hull.
- Draw designs on the sails with any coloring material such as crayons,colored pencils,marker etc. You need to decorate both sides of the sails.
- A Straw will serve as your sailboat's mast. If you need a longer mast, you can tape 2 straw together. Put some gum along the larger sail's vertical side.
- Place the mast on the area with glue and carefully roll the edge of the sail around the mast.
- Apply gum or glue on the smaller sail's vertical side.
- Glue the smaller sail on the mast as well, this time pointing towards the opposite direction.
- Roll a small chunk of modeling clay into a ball. Glue this at the center of the boat's hull to provide an anchoring material for the mast.
- Straw fixed the mast into the clay piece.
- Wait for everything to dry before taking your boat for a pretend sail. Although your sailboat looks all set for a voyage, it's not made to sail on real water.
